Role Summary:

The Environmental Services Manager reports directly to the Vice President and is tasked with delivering high-quality environmental services efficiently and cost-effectively, adhering to facility, federal, state, and local standards. This role also encompasses client relationship management and the supervision and development of hourly staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute all tasks related to environmental services, demonstrating a strong service orientation towards colleagues and clients.
  • Implement environmental service programs aimed at maintaining clean and sanitary facilities, conducting regular inspections, and completing quality management reports. Propose new methods to enhance overall performance.
  • Develop colleague assignments to ensure efficient and cost-effective completion of cleaning and laundry tasks, maintaining accurate records.
  • Oversee the recruitment, hiring, supervision, and evaluation of both non-supervisory and supervisory staff, ensuring performance standards are met.
  • Lead the orientation, development, and motivation of supervisory staff, ensuring comprehensive training and adherence to performance standards.
  • Manage inventory control by recommending supply types, quantities, and order timing, while maintaining records to track inventory levels and costs.
  • Ensure all equipment is clean and operational, recommending new equipment as necessary.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate meeting room setups and furniture arrangements.
  • Foster effective facility relations through both formal and informal communication methods.

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Manage departmental expenses, including labor, supplies, uniforms, and equipment, in accordance with budgetary guidelines.
  • Analyze trends and market activities related to supply expenses, labor, and overhead costs.
  • Prepare and submit financial reports to the Vice President and corporate office.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by being attentive, approachable, and courteous to clients.


Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of management experience, preferably in healthcare-related environmental services.
  3. At least 3 years of experience in the environmental services field.
  4. Proven leadership capabilities.
  5. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Experience with training methodologies.
  7. Must provide proof of legal eligibility to work.
