Job Title: Environmental Scientist

KOMAN Government Solutions, LLC (KGS), a leading provider of environmental remediation and consulting services, is seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for executing field investigations and associated reporting for federal customers throughout New England and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support project managers in developing work plans and procuring subcontractors for projects.
  • Prepare field forms, equipment, and materials for field work.
  • Provide oversight of subcontractors during soil boring, monitoring well installations, geophysical surveys, and land surveying.
  • Collect environmental samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Perform well development and survey with GPS and laser level.
  • Support operations and maintenance of remedial systems.
  • Contribute to report preparation and maintain internal and external client relationships.
  • Communicate effectively with project teams, customers, and stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental or Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Four or more years of experience in environmental services or remediation with a focus on field investigations and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with environmental compliance, including federal regulations (CERCLA, CAA, CWA, SDWA, RCRA) and state regulations (Massachusetts Contingency Plan).
  • Experience working with federal agencies, including the USEPA, Department of Defense, and New England state environmental agencies.
  • Current OSHA 40-hour training for Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) and current OSHA 8-hour Refresher HAZWOPER training.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently (30-60%) and work overtime as needed.

  • The average salary range for this position is between $70,000-$85,000, based on factors such as experience, education, and geographical location.
