Facility Maintenance Technician

This role is crucial for ensuring the operational integrity of the facility, brewery, and packaging machinery. The technician will engage in both preventive maintenance and repair activities, as well as grounds upkeep, to guarantee that all systems function safely and efficiently, minimizing unexpected production downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and maintain electrical, mechanical, plumbing, heating, cooling, gas, air, drainage, and wastewater systems.
- Assemble, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot components of brewery systems.
- Collaborate with production teams to monitor sub-systems and equipment for optimal performance.
- Assist in periodic equipment validation and testing procedures.
- Support all safety initiatives and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and preventive maintenance schedules and logs.
- Help in the procurement and organization of parts, supplies, and tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace across all operational areas.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as necessary.
- Adapt to a flexible work schedule to enhance support for brewing operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; electrical training is preferred. A degree or certification in a mechanical or engineering discipline is highly desirable.
- 3-5 years of experience in a maintenance role, preferably within food and beverage or craft brewing environments.
- Proficient in welding, electrical systems, mechanical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and machining; TIG/MIG welding experience is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude for operating and repairing motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and other machinery.
- Knowledgeable in AC/DC power systems, high/low voltage applications, and PLCs.
- Understanding of fluid dynamics, including pipe fitting and pump operations.
- Skilled in the inspection and maintenance of materials handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Preferred skills include carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and outdoor maintenance.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Forklift operator certification is preferred.
- Valid driver's license is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying noise levels and temperature conditions.
- Capable of working outdoors in different weather conditions.
- Must handle hazardous materials safely.
- Ability to work safely around machinery with moving parts.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.
- Occasional heavy lifting (up to 100 lbs.) may be required.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for extended periods.
- Proficient in using various power and hand tools.
