Job Summary:
UNC Health is seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant I to join our team. As a Nursing Assistant I, you will provide direct and indirect patient care in a hospital, clinic, or home health care setting. You will work under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician and be responsible for assisting with routine examinations and procedures, as well as providing care and treatments to patients as outlined in their plan of care.
Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures.
- Provide care and treatments to patients as outlined in their plan of care, including vital sign measurement, specimen collection, and wound care.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Provide indirect care to patients and assigned areas, including cleaning, restocking supplies, and transporting patients and supplies.
- Reinforce routine teaching given to patients by the registered nurse or physician and document patient understanding of instructions.
Requirements:
- Must be listed as Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Prefer six (6) months of nursing assistant experience.
