Guthrie is seeking a dedicated and flexible Float Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver outstanding patient care within our esteemed healthcare facility. As a prominent tertiary care and teaching hospital, we are committed to enhancing the health and wellness of our community.
The Float RN will operate across various departments where assistance is most needed. This full-time role is scheduled for day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, including an alternating weekend and holiday rotation.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing professional, comprehensive nursing care to patients in an acute care setting. This role is accountable for delivering coordinated, safe, compassionate, and evidence-based quality care tailored to the individual needs of patients and their families. The RN practices in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics, and the ANA scope and standards of practice.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
- BSN in Nursing preferred.
- Specialty Certification is preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification may be required based on unit.
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience required; less than one year may be acceptable for those transitioning from the Newly Licensed Registered Nurse Residency (NLRN) Program.
- Must maintain BLS certification; ACLS is unit dependent.
- Utilizes Nursing Professional Practice: Assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care. Develops and coordinates care plans to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Advocates for Patients: Promotes ethical and holistic care by engaging in care planning that respects the autonomy and dignity of patients.
- Facilitates Learning: Creates a learning environment for patients, families, and team members, fostering both formal and informal educational opportunities.
- Ensures Safety and Quality: Responsible for patient safety, identifying issues, and integrating evidence-based practices into care.
- Engages in Professional Development: Committed to ongoing professional growth and practicing within the legal and ethical standards of nursing.
- Demonstrates Leadership: Acts as a change agent within the practice setting, collaborating with colleagues and coordinating care effectively.
- Participates in Educational Program Development: Involved in planning and presenting educational initiatives.
- Proficient in Information Technology, including electronic health records and necessary communication systems.
