Guthrie is seeking a dedicated and versatile Float Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver outstanding patient care at our esteemed healthcare facility. Guthrie is a comprehensive teaching hospital committed to enhancing the health and wellness of our community.
The Float RN will operate across various departments within the hospital, addressing the most pressing needs. This full-time role follows a day shift schedule: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, with a rotation every other weekend and holiday.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering professional, comprehensive nursing care to patients in an acute care setting. This role is accountable for providing coordinated, safe, compassionate, and evidence-based quality care tailored to the individual needs of patients and their families throughout their lifespan. The RN practices in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics, and the ANA scope and standards of practice.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse licensed in the state of practice.
- BSN in Nursing preferred.
- Any previously agreed-upon timeline for obtaining a Bachelor's degree in nursing will remain in effect.
- Specialty Certification is preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification is unit dependent.
- The Registered Nurse must hold a current license in the state of employment with a minimum of one year of experience.
- Alternatively, the RN may have less than one year of experience if they have transitioned from the Newly Licensed Registered Nurse Residency (NLRN) Program.
- Must maintain BLS certification; ACLS is unit dependent.
- Utilizes Nursing Professional Practice: Assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care. Develops and coordinates the patient's care plan to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Advocates for Patients: Promotes ethical and holistic care by collaborating in care planning to uphold the autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs of patients.
- Facilitates Learning: Creates a learning environment for patients, families, and healthcare team members, including students.
- Ensures Safety and Quality: Accountable for safety, identifies issues, and integrates evidence-based practices into nursing care.
- Engages in Professional Development: Participates in ongoing professional growth and practices within the legal parameters of the Nurse Practice Act and specialty standards.
- Leads in Practice Setting & Community: Demonstrates leadership and collaborates with colleagues to integrate nursing knowledge.
- Contributes to Educational Programs: Participates in planning and presenting educational initiatives.
- Proficient in Information Technology, including electronic health records and communication systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
- Employs independent, critical judgment in patient care delivery.
- Exhibits strong interpersonal skills that foster a positive environment.
- Effectively manages multiple responsibilities and urgent situations.
