Overview:

Stryten Energy is a leader in the manufacturing of specialized and custom injection molding products, catering to the industrial lead battery, automotive, and consumer sectors. As we expand our battery poly manufacturing and recycling capabilities, we aim to address the supply challenges faced by the industry.

The Quality Assurance Specialist is tasked with conducting inspections and evaluations of products, processes, and materials across all product categories. This role involves collaborating with production staff (including supervisors and operators) to identify issues, ascertain root causes, and implement corrective measures. Additionally, the specialist will address customer complaints relevant to their shift and department while adhering to Stryten and ISO 9001 standards.

Shift Details: This position may require working either the first shift (6am - 2pm) or the second shift (2pm - 10pm).

Compensation: The pay rate is set at $20.06 per hour, with an additional $0.95 per hour for second shift work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consistently wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to all health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct quality audits and inspections in accordance with established procedures.
  • Perform First Piece Inspections (FSA), document deviations, and seek engineering approval as necessary.
  • Provide FSA first sample approval, clearly indicating areas requiring trimming based on customer specifications.
  • Identify and manage nonconforming or potentially nonconforming products using Hold Tags, effectively communicating issues to the production team and supervisors.
  • Offer daily quality guidance and support to manufacturing through established procedures and best practices.
  • Be flexible with shift availability to ensure adequate support and coverage.
  • Oversee and validate quality workstations on the shop floor, ensuring that gauges and inspection systems are functioning correctly.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of automated inspection systems.
  • Ensure that equipment used for in-process testing is calibrated and compliant with standard requirements.
  • Utilize calipers, micrometers, and other tools as needed to verify product compliance with specifications.
  • Collaborate with teams on problem-solving initiatives, linking actions and outcomes to Control Plans, PFMEAs, inspection points, and customer returns.
  • Assist in communicating any updates or changes to work instructions.
  • Engage with teams to resolve corrective actions related to internal KPIs and external customer concerns.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to work independently or collaboratively to address challenges.
  • Be prepared to work overtime as required to complete ongoing tasks and coordinate with other shifts.
  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience with gauges and measurement equipment is advantageous.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in basic mathematics and statistics.
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Familiar with root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Quality and customer-focused mindset.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively on multiple projects.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, particularly with Windows-based applications.
  • Able to lift and move items weighing up to 35 lbs. for extended periods.
