Quality Assurance Food Plant Specialist Job Description

The Quality Assurance Food Plant Specialist works in partnership with the Production Department to oversee shift quality. This role involves conducting additional testing during the production process, resolving in-process issues, providing guidance to personnel on testing procedures, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

**Work Schedule:** 2nd Shift (2pm-10pm)

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee quality testing and documentation of shift employees
  • Test products for various qualities and record data
  • Write reports to validate or indicate deviations from standards
  • Support production on product test runs
  • Make recommendations for modifications to achieve optimum quality
  • Calibrate lab testing equipment
  • Provide training on testing and documentation procedures
  • Adhere to safety, food safety, and standardized work procedures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in food sciences or related field
  • 3+ years experience in Quality Technician or related position
  • Detailed oriented with strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Ability to identify problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions
  • Interpret technical instructions and product quality results
