The Operations Supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our bakeries, coordinating activities of workers engaged in manufacturing and packing bread products. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to analyze and interpret production schedules, safety rules, and operating instructions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and plan weekly production schedules in conjunction with the Materials Management department.
  • Complete weekly employee schedules based on production schedules.
  • Ensure job safety analysis is accurate and followed by all employees.
  • Interface with other departments to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Inspect and measure products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Direct employees in adjusting machines, equipment, and work processes to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Develop and implement changes in working conditions and use of equipment to improve production methods and efficiency.
  • Resolve worker issues or submit unsettled issues to the Human Resources department.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Develop capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology.
  • Maintain time and production records.
  • Document line inefficiencies and downtime to identify issues.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years of related bakery or food manufacturing experience and/or training.
  • At least two years of experience working at a bakery operation.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as production schedules, safety rules, and operating instructions.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or colleagues.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and manufacturing software helpful.
