Job Title: Packaging Operator

Aspire Bakeries is a leading North American baking company specializing in frozen baked goods. Our innovative food portfolio includes a wide range of products, from breads and artisan breads to cookies, donuts, muffins, and pastries.

The Packaging Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient production and packaging of our products. Under the direction of the Bakery Supervisor, this role plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates daily activities in the Packaging and Retail Bagging Departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties as assigned by the Packaging Supervisor or their designee.
  • Ensure adherence to the daily production, packaging, and retail bagging schedule.
  • Coordinate, organize, and assign subordinates daily job tasks in packaging and retail bagging departments.
  • Verify that metal detectors are operational and perform regular tests as directed by the Quality Assurance Department.
  • Monitor blast freezer temperature and core product temperatures to ensure product temperature specifications are met.
  • Inform maintenance department or Packaging Supervisor of equipment maintenance issues.
  • Adjust and prepare inkjet coder for daily production. Monitor to ensure accuracy and legibility.
  • Ensure that lot codes, bar codes, use-by dates, case labels, and retail bags are correctly applied, used, or inserted into the cases according to specifications.
  • Ensure that sufficient packaging materials are available for daily activities (cartons, labels, retail bags, pallets, pallet tags, case tape, etc.).
  • Operate forklift and pallet jack to move product, including into and out of the freezer.
  • Complete duties, and ensure that subordinates complete their duties, in accordance with quality assurance, GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), safety and other company programs and procedures, and in accordance with government codes and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Knowledge of inventory control software is helpful.
  • Forklift certification is preferred.
