Job Title: Continuous Improvement Manager 3

Perdue Farms, a family-owned company, is seeking a skilled Continuous Improvement Manager 3 to join our team at the Perry Harvest facility. As a key member of our operations team, you will drive measurable results through facilitation and leadership of the Continuous Improvement Model.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Become a business partner with operations and functional management to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Utilize systematic problem-solving techniques, including Root Cause Analysis, Kaizens, Loss Analysis, and DMAIC methodology, to eradicate losses and drive sustainable results.
  • Lead the organization in data-based decision making and drive actions to generate measurable improvement through Lean, Six Sigma techniques, and CI tools.
  • Manage Site Improvement Projects through project plan development, results tracking, and leading and coaching site leaders through project execution.
  • Deliver effective Continuous Improvement training courses and programs to increase team capability and awareness of CI tools.
  • Implement, support, and coach site Manufacturing Operating System (MOS), including Tier meetings, KPI development and tracking, and standard work.
  • Facilitate Kaizen and 90-Day Improvement events to build and lead focused and empowered teams to address systemic problems.
  • Diagnose site losses and deliver breakthrough financial results on a continuous basis.
  • Develop and implement a plant communication plan for process improvement efforts.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for CI methodology, CI tools, and the implementation of Daily Process controls to drive operational improvements.
  • Actively participate in benchmarking and CI Network connections to identify, translate, and promote best practices.
  • Support achievement of site conversation cost targets and identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Participate in development and execution of Company CI Strategy.
  • Timely communicate, track, and report on project progress, results, and deviations from the project plan with key stakeholders.
  • Organize regular meetings with key stakeholders to share project status updates, define next steps, and review plans to deliver sustainable SQDCSM improvements.
  • Promote the transformation from a reactive organizational culture to one that is more preventative and predictable, utilizing data-driven decision making, sustainable actions, and CI tools.
  • Develop and participate in Rewards and Recognition programs to promote the use of Continuous Improvement and recognizing team successes.
  • Ensure deliverables support the 4-Ps: People, Products, Profitability, and Planet.
  • Ability to effectively manage Site CI Specialist (if applicable).
  • Effective coaching and mentoring of CI Ambassadors, CI Specialists, and CI Managers.
  • Gains a solid understanding of the Company's key initiatives, competitive priorities, accountabilities, and ensures linkage of continuous improvement efforts with these goals.
Requirements:
  • BS degree or equivalent related work experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience in Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, or Operations.
  • Travel 25% to support other CI initiatives.
  • Must possess knowledge of LEAN principles, Problem Solving Tools, Six Sigma, TQM, TPM, and SPC.
  • Combination of business, interpersonal, technical, and analytical skills.
  • Strong Leadership skills in leading teams of people.
  • Self-starter and motivated by challenge.
  • Strong sense of teamwork with high level of individual contribution.
  • Able to learn new concepts, combine with common sense, and effectively apply to problem solving.
  • Strong communication, organization, and presentation skills.
  • Able to communicate and work with teams at all organizational levels from Senior management to shopfloor.
  • Willingness to promote and drive change.
  • Proficiency in O365 Tools (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Able to support all Shift (1st, 2nd, & 3rd) on Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Preferred Experience:
  • Power Apps/BI Experience.
  • Minitab.
  • Bilingual.
  • Prior exposure to Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence tools.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements:

Position is mostly in plant environment but requires office work and extensive travel. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies, and equipment. Work activity is mostly in plant environments.

When in a plant environment:

  • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  • May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
  • May be exposed to all chemicals found in poultry, food, and processing plant.

Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
