Position OverviewThis role necessitates an individual with comprehensive expertise in broadcast media systems, encompassing transmission, video, audio, communications, and control systems workflows.
The selected candidate will integrate into the Systems Engineering & Support team, providing essential support for broadcast infrastructure at the NBA in Secaucus, NJ, as well as at NBA Arenas and various remote sites, including domestic and international distribution during live events, addressing critical issues as they emerge.
Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver troubleshooting assistance during operational challenges to uphold standards and ensure uptime.
Support live environments for NBATV International, production control rooms, NBA Arenas, and other technical sectors at NBA headquarters.
Oversee all incoming and outgoing feeds for technical integrity.
Collaboration / Support:
Engage with Remote Arena Engineers, Production, IT, Operations, and Domestic/International Clients/Vendors.
Assist in the support and troubleshooting of broadcast systems and IP-based network-connected equipment, including 3G/HD production hybrid routers, multiviewers, production switchers, IP codecs, and broadcast department network Layer 2/3 switches.
Generate comprehensive technical reports.Willingness to work various shifts associated with a 24x7x365 production environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Skills/Knowledge
Proficient understanding of broadcast television standards, workflows, and technologies involved in routing, switching, encoding, audio processing, and distribution.
Capability to manage systems routing, quality control challenges, and diverse production requirements.Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to learning.
Familiarity with fiber optic and copper networking technologies.
Proven capacity to work independently and innovatively.
Hands-on experience with 3G/HD broadcasts and comprehensive knowledge of related systems.
Experience Required
- 5 years of experience in broadcast operations or engineering.
