Role Overview:

As a Homelessness Prevention Advocate at Corner Stone Community, you will play a critical role in preventing homelessness among vulnerable populations. This position involves assessing clients' housing needs, developing effective solutions, and collaborating with community resources to ensure sustainable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' housing needs and develop tailored prevention strategies;
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community resources, service providers, and other stakeholders;
  • Collaborate with case managers to identify potential risks and develop proactive interventions;
  • Communicate effectively with clients, ensuring they understand their options and the support available to them;
  • Monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed to achieve successful outcomes.

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field;
  • At least three years of experience in housing-related programs, preferably with a focus on homelessness prevention;
  • Strong knowledge of local housing market trends and community resources;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with clients and stakeholders;
  • Possession of one year of field experience working with individuals with serious mental illness, those with dual diagnoses, or the homeless population.
