Job Summary: As a highly skilled and compassionate advocate, you will be the primary point of contact for participants in our shelter programs. Your role will involve providing exceptional customer service, administering resident intake, and ensuring a safe and clean environment for all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a clean and healthy environment by stripping beds, clearing lockers, and storing participant property.
  • Providing accurate and complete records, including attendance, disciplinary actions, and eligibility status.
  • Facilitating groups, workshops, and client meetings to promote engagement and participation.
  • Referring clients to the SF-START team and preparing START intake forms as needed.
  • Collaborating with site management staff to resolve critical incidents and ensure smooth operations.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with participants, stakeholders, and community partners to advance program goals.
  • Participating in daily shift change meetings and attending staff trainings and meetings to stay informed and up-to-date on best practices.
  • Performing other duties as assigned and required to support the success of our programs.

Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need a high school diploma or equivalent, at least six months of experience working in a customer-facing role, and excellent communication, problem-solving, and crisis resolution skills. Experience working with homeless adults, mental health issues, disabilities, and substance abuse is highly valued. You must also possess strong cultural competency and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
