Financial Director for Homelessness Prevention

We are seeking a Financial Director to lead our financial strategy, ensuring the long-term stability and growth of our organization. As a member of our executive team, you will report to our CEO and work closely with our COO and Board of Directors.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in finance, accounting, and operations, with experience in nonprofit finance and business operations. They will be responsible for managing our $5M operating budget, overseeing $12M of federal, state, and local funds allocated to over 50 partner organizations, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing our financial strategy, including budget development, forecasting, and investments.
  • Managing personnel and financial resources, monitoring budgetary and financial procedures to ensure adherence to GAAP.
  • Providing timely oversight and administration of federal, state, and local funding.
  • Collaborating with our CEO, COO, and other key leaders for procurement and administration of federal, state, and private monies.

Additionally, the Financial Director will:

  • Lead multiple high-impact initiatives to achieve our goals.
  • Supervise and mentor an Accounting Manager and part-time Bookkeeper.
  • Forge connections with our team and gain deep insights into our history, partners, and contracts.

In return, we offer a competitive salary range of $145,000 - $160,000, a 9/80 compressed work schedule with alternating Fridays off, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, flexible spending account (FSA), simple IRA with a 3% match, PTO: 120 hours of paid time off, and 14 paid holidays. This is a hybrid role with an office located at 4699 Murphy Canyon Road, Suite 106, San Diego, CA 92123.
