Licensed Respiratory Care Specialist

We are seeking qualified individuals for various roles in Respiratory Therapy, ranging from entry-level positions to advanced Respiratory Therapist 4 roles. Opportunities are available in Adult, Pediatrics, Flight, and Diagnostic specialties, with placement determined by experience and qualifications.
The Respiratory Therapist 2 will engage in learning and executing assigned duties during the transitional period. This role entails delivering safe and effective respiratory care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, adhering to clinical guidelines and hospital protocols.
This position also serves as a resource and educator for patients, caregivers, hospital personnel, and students. In the absence of a supervisor, the role may include responsibilities as a shift team leader.
Licensure and Certification Requirements:
- Must hold a valid license as a Respiratory Therapist from the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Current certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is required.
- CPR certification is mandatory based on the practice setting.
- Preferred credentials include current related certifications from the NBRC or National Asthma Educator Certification Board (NAECB).
- ACLS and/or PALS certifications are preferred.
Experience Requirements:
- Required: Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Preferred: Two (2) years of experience in a similar role, with prior experience in a comparable practice setting.
Education and Training:
- Required: Education and training that meet the eligibility criteria for the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy from a CoARC accredited program.
Independent Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include conducting cardiopulmonary assessments and monitoring, airway management, selecting appropriate ventilators, and collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams regarding patient care plans. Maintaining a clean and well-stocked work environment is essential.
In the absence of a supervisor, the individual may assume the role of shift team leader.
