Insurance Sales and Risk Management Specialist

Brown & Brown Insurance is seeking a talented Insurance Sales and Risk Advisor to join our team in Lafayette, LA.
This role reports to a Profit Center Leader or executive and focuses on selling and renewing business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify prospects for business from existing and prospective clients
- Maintain a strong and active new business pipeline
- Develop new relationships with individuals responsible for insurance and risk management decisions at prospective clients
- Aggressively pursue cross-selling opportunities amongst existing clients
- Obtain referral leads from existing clients
- Participate in targeted civic and professional associations
- Design individual prospect sales strategies and develop unique prospect programs
- Understand our value proposition for each opportunity and align the firm's resources and expertise with individual client sales strategies
- Maintain consistent and high-quality touch points with clients and prospects
- Provide proactive risk management advice to existing clients and resolve client issues before they become problems
- Champion the proper advocacy of claims
- Contribute to the performance management and career development of team members
- BS, BA or 5-10 years plus relevant work experience in insurance or business-to-business sales
- Bachelor's degree in a business or financial related discipline
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Exceptional telephone demeanor
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- 1-3 years' experience in a similar position
- Insurance License (P&C and/or L&H)
- CIC designation (preferred)
