Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Training Specialist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our Professional Development team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering training programs to ensure our clinical staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement training programs to meet the needs of our clinical staff, including orientation and continuing education.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in training and develop targeted initiatives to address these gaps.
  • Collaborate with department directors, physicians, and other stakeholders to ensure training programs meet regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Design and deliver training curriculum using adult learning principles and instructional design techniques.
  • Provide consultation and support to clinical staff and other departments on clinical performance and program development.
  • Manage projects and lead project teams to ensure attainment of targeted outcomes in a timely and effective manner.
  • Research and recommend the use or purchase of commercially prepared educational materials.
  • Coordinate the Nursing QI Monitoring Program and identify areas for improvement.
  • Apply for continuing education credits for training programs and ensure compliance with granting organization requirements.
Requirements
  • Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience, including experience in leadership and/or education/training roles.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • License, Certification, Registration.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and classroom techniques.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a teaching/training environment.
  • Minimum one (1) year in an ambulatory care setting.
  • Certification in Ambulatory Care Nursing, Staff Development, Administration, or related field.
  • Masters degree in nursing or related field.
Work Environment

This position requires travel to all offices within the KPGA Region, approximately 25% of the time. The work location is on-site at a KP location, with the flexibility to work from home. Kaiser Permanente is an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce.
