Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at Akron Children's Hospital. As a key member of our front desk team, you will provide exceptional patient care and administrative support to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for our patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients and families by providing prompt and caring responses to their needs.
  • Perform point-of-service activities, including visit preparation, co-pay collection, and patient tracking, as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Schedule patient visits or diagnostic testing using hospital procedures and resources.
  • Manage third-party payors and collect co-pays in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Participate in clerical and administrative cross-coverage efforts as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working in a general office setting and healthcare environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and computerized scheduling systems a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
