Position Overview:

Role: Patient Service Center Registration Agent

As a vital member of our team, the Patient Service Center Registration Agent is responsible for executing essential front office operations within our Patient Service Center. This role encompasses a variety of tasks, including:

  • Delivering exceptional customer service to all patients.
  • Accurate data entry and management of patient information.
  • Processing insurance billing and payments efficiently.
  • Resolving any issues that may arise during patient interactions.
  • Adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Managing inventory and ordering of office supplies as needed.

Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $25.60

Salary offers are determined based on various factors such as relevant skills, training, experience, education, and applicable certifications. Market conditions and organizational considerations are also taken into account. Successful candidates may qualify for annual performance bonuses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of patient registration.
  • Perform data entry tasks as required.
  • Contact clients to confirm orders and verify billing information.
  • Address customer inquiries via phone and in-person.
  • Collect payments when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Comply with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist in compiling monthly statistics and reports.
  • Perform basic clerical tasks such as filing and mailing.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the values of Quest Diagnostics.
  • Follow attendance guidelines and report to work punctually.
  • Answer phone calls in a courteous and helpful manner.
  • Utilize established protocols for addressing customer complaints.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Complete all required training and development.
  • Order necessary supplies for the office.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of one year in a customer service role.
  • Proficient in keyboarding/data entry and computer usage.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Frequent use of phone and computer.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Fine motor skills and hand steadiness.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and carry up to 15 pounds.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Visual attention to detail is essential.
  • Mobility to walk, bend, and reach as necessary.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
  • Effective communication skills in English are required.
  • Flexibility to work based on staffing needs, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute with accuracy.
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on established guidelines.

Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
