We are in search of a skilled accounting expert to enhance our dynamic Boston office in the capacity of a Senior Fund Accountant. This pivotal role encompasses comprehensive accounting support for the fund accounting segment, catering to private equity, hedge, real estate, and venture capital funds along with their investors. The Senior Accountant may be tasked with managing larger or more intricate accounts and will collaborate with auditors as necessary. Reporting directly to the fund accounting manager, this position is integral to our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance of general ledgers.
- Calculate periodic net asset values and performance returns for funds.
- Prepare and deliver monthly or quarterly financial reports to fund managers.
- Conduct period-end closings and special reporting tailored to each fund.
- Issue capital statements to investors.
- Review investor subscription packets, perform due diligence, and conduct background checks to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering regulations.
- Provide daily operational assistance for funds, including banking services, wire transfers, and account management.
- Assist clients with inquiries regarding online portal access.
- Execute additional tasks as directed by the senior manager of fund accounting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, particularly in relation to fund accounting.
- 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience in executing and reviewing complex calculations, including fund NAV calculations and investor allocations.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and collaborate with third-party service providers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree.
- Familiarity with Advent Geneva or Allvue is a plus, along with a willingness to learn new software.
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking capabilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail, self-management skills, and effective prioritization of tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
