Reporting directly to the Regional Brand Controller for North America, this role presents an exceptional opportunity for an individual with a strong background in retail financial and operational management. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future trajectory of COS, enhancing brand visibility, and enriching our customer experience, all while contributing to our goal of establishing COS as a Sustainable International Power Brand in North America.

The Retail Finance Manager, also referred to internally as the Retail Controller, will act as a strategic ally to the Regional Sales Manager and Regional Brand Controller. This position will spearhead the financial development of the store channel within the region, collaborating closely with the Area Sales team to ensure sustainable growth and profitability. Additionally, the Retail Controller will be responsible for devising, executing, and monitoring operational strategies aimed at enhancing current business performance and identifying future opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor financial operational strategies for physical stores in alignment with global objectives.
  • Maximize regional profitability by identifying and pursuing growth opportunities, driving necessary changes to elevate the brand.
  • Foster a people-centric work environment, aligning actions with annual HR objectives.
  • Provide comprehensive financial analyses, reports, and follow-ups to identify future business requirements.
  • Establish targets and explore opportunities for sales growth while enhancing profitability for the store channel, ensuring alignment with financial, operational, and commercial outcomes.
  • Ensure accuracy in planning, service levels, and efficiency in accordance with annual, monthly, and weekly budgets and corporate goals.
  • Oversee financial outcomes, analyze variances, and ensure that the budgeted profits for the store channel are achieved and reported in accordance with company standards.
  • Support the Area Sales Teams' development alongside the Regional Brand Controller to drive business growth, focusing on controlling aspects and talent management for succession planning.
  • Assist and guide Store teams in aligning sales planning and scheduling to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
  • Collaborate with HR on staffing, recruitment, and training to support operational and customer experience strategies.
  • Work with the Merchandising team and Area Managers to coach Store Teams on enhancing commerciality and sales while minimizing costs in physical stores.
  • Partner with the Regional E-Commerce Team to implement multi-channel operational strategies.
  • Ensure that cost bookings and invoice management are executed correctly in collaboration with local account departments, in line with the budget.
  • Engage and network with all relevant departments within the central COS organization and the H&M group to optimize and develop the business.

  • 2-4 years of experience in retail leadership or people management, preferably in multi-unit retail management.
  • 3-5 years in a business analyst or finance role within a retail environment is preferred.
  • Strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to coach and manage staff performance, including progressive discipline techniques.
  • Inclusive, positive, receptive to feedback, and willing to multitask and learn on the job.
  • Store-oriented with a commitment to the development of store management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable to company-specific systems.
  • Capable of training on platforms and simplifying complex technical information for effective communication.

Job Status: Salary, Exempt

EEOC Code: PRO

Compensation: The hiring range is $113,000-$127,000 annually.
