Carespring is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the operation of our skilled nursing facility's preventative maintenance and repair program. This is a management and hands-on position that requires strong leadership and technical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize, direct, and supervise the operation of the facility's preventative maintenance and repair program.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair activities with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Plan, direct, and supervise the TELS maintenance program, including heating, cooling, plumbing, water, gas, electrical, mechanical, communications, carpentry, painting, and similar work.
  • Supervise maintenance assistants, assign duties, and evaluate work performance.
  • Supervise grounds care, maintenance, or institutional equipment and buses.
  • Record work performed and costs involved.
  • Coordinate work of the maintenance department with other department functions to avoid interrupting patient care or normal business operations.
  • Inspect all equipment and systems regularly for proper functioning and safety.
  • Inspect the building and grounds regularly for compliance with national, state, and local safety codes.
  • Prepare and submit reports as directed by the administrator.
  • Alternate on-call for emergencies with the maintenance assistant.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent, with a technical degree or associate degree preferred but not required.
  • At least five years of experience in maintenance or similar work.
  • Ability to plan and carry out programs in repair, new construction, and/or installation.
  • Ability to direct others.
  • Able to work with others.
  • Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and allied machinery.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Knowledge of record keeping and cost estimating.
  • Knowledge of supplies and equipment used by the department and the care of equipment.
