Materials Management Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Management Engineer to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our Materials and Process Engineering organization, you will be responsible for managing material documentation, compliance, obsolescence, and shelf life. This role will support the Materials Management section and involve tasks such as creation and maintenance of material and process specifications, creation and maintenance of RMD and supplier test instructions, material obsolescence tracking and management, review and approval of material shelf life, and support to Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain organizations by resolving issues related to the procurement of material and other tasks to ensure the use of compliant material at RMD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creation and maintenance of material and process specifications.
- Creation and maintenance of RMD and supplier test instructions.
- Material obsolescence tracking and management.
- Review and approval of material shelf life.
- Support to Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain organizations by resolving issues related to the procurement of material and other tasks to ensure the use of compliant material at RMD.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience. In absence of a degree, 9+ years of experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience.
- Experience in using material safety datasheets, and/or technical datasheets.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in engineering technical writing and specifications (internal or commercial or military).
- Needs to be able to communicate with parties within and outside of own discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Must be a self-starter and able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Must set high quality standard and be action oriented.
- Expert level written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build solid relationships with a vast array of team members.
- High emotional intelligence and conflict resolution skillset.
- MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
