Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Production Operator to join our team at SCUSA Saputo Cheese USA Inc. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our production equipment, including the Purity filling equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate production equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure high-quality products.
  • Collect and test product samples to inspect for leaks, defects, and quality specifications.
  • Follow established aseptic controls and procedures to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Set up and use portion control cups and seal materials in accordance with production schedules.
  • Validate product codes and identify out-of-specification product conditions.
  • Perform routine equipment adjustments and maintenance tasks.
  • Operate a lift truck safely and efficiently.
  • Accurately complete production records and documents.
  • Participate in cross-training with other departments to enhance knowledge and skills.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in food manufacturing, preferably in dairy food manufacturing.
  • Advanced quality/food safety training and/or certifications are a plus.
  • Working knowledge of food manufacturing acronyms (SQF, QA/QC, CQP, HACCP, SOP, 5S, GMP, etc.).
  • Lift truck certification or ability to obtain.
  • Strong math skills and proficiency in computer software and data entry.
  • Strong technical skills and ability to operate equipment controls and mechanical operations.
  • Successful completion of a drug screen and background check.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and physical demands.
  • Standing, walking, bending, and climbing throughout the 12-hour shift.
  • Fine manipulation and dexterity, gripping, and squeezing.
  • Visual acuity with the ability to see color.
  • Working with chemicals and wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Physical lifting up to 55-lbs to shoulder height frequently throughout the shift.
