Job Overview:
Summary/Objective

The Cryogenic Pump Repair Specialist is tasked with the meticulous repair of cryogenic pumps. This role involves disassembling, analyzing, troubleshooting, and rebuilding customer pumps. The specialist must demonstrate high productivity and deliver quality repairs promptly and within budget to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions/Responsibilities

1. Interpret and work from technical drawings.

2. Disassemble, analyze, and rebuild cryogenic pumps, accessories, and motors to enhance performance.

3. Operate various shop equipment including drill presses, hydraulic presses, bench grinders, pipe threading machines, pipe benders, cutting torches, and band saws.

4. Assess the condition of parts to identify damage causes and communicate findings to customers for improved reliability.

5. Assemble cryogenic pump components with precision.

6. Fit, align, and adjust all components, including bearings and seals, to stringent tolerances.

7. Document all clearances on assembly clearance data sheets for engineering review and approval.

8. Ensure work conforms to specifications, instructions, and customer requirements as per standard operating procedures.

9. Perform troubleshooting as necessary.

10. Rework parts when required.

11. Provide input for failure analysis when requested.

12. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas following 5S principles.

13. Adhere to all quality, engineering, sales, and safety protocols.

14. Maintain consistent attendance to meet production schedules.

15. Offer technical guidance to customers.

16. Communicate with customers regarding service evaluations and coordination of service-related matters.

17. Meet production schedules at a rate of 80% on time or better.

18. Perform all duties in compliance with OSHA standards and regulations.

19. Follow company safety policies and procedures.

20. Promote a customer-focused approach throughout the organization.

21. Support QMS requirements in areas of responsibility to ensure compliance with international and federal regulations.

22. Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
Competencies

- Proficient in reading technical prints and schematics.

- Strong analytical skills related to cryogenic pumps.

- Brazing or welding capabilities.

- Skills in balancing related to cryogenic pump repair.

- Ability to operate laser machinery.

- Inspection skills for machinery.

- Knowledge of basic AC/DC circuitry.

- Understanding of materials used in construction.

- Familiarity with various system components (regulators, valves, solenoids, pressure relief devices, etc.).

- Proficient in Microsoft Office.

- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and handheld data entry devices.

- Highly organized with a proactive approach.

- Team-oriented with strong communication skills – verbal, listening, and interaction.

Education/Experience

- High School Diploma or equivalent.

- 2-5 years of experience in a shop environment.

- Preferred experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems.

- Machining experience is a plus.

- Welder certifications are preferred.

- Experience in Refrigeration/HVAC or cryogenic systems is advantageous.

- A valid driver's license is preferred.
