Job Overview:


The Quality Department at Nikkiso Cryogenic Industries is dedicated to ensuring that our products and services not only meet but exceed customer expectations through the implementation and ongoing enhancement of our Quality Management System.

Our team, comprising Quality Engineers, Technicians, and Document Control Clerks, collaborates with both internal and external stakeholders to assess performance, qualify top-tier vendors, and consistently refine company procedures to support the design, manufacturing, assembly, and export of high-quality engineered products.


Annual Salary:
$120,000 to $150,000 plus bonus opportunity

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the Quality Department personnel effectively and efficiently;

- Optimize Management Systems in alignment with international standards such as ISO 9001 and IEC regulations;

- Drive cross-functional development, deployment, and maintenance of tactical objectives and KPIs;

- Maintain Quality objectives and KPIs related to Receiving Inspection, In-Process and Final Inspection, MRB, Supplier Quality Performance Index, Project Quality performance, Cost of Quality, and Audits;

- Ensure effective quality operations including Quality Assurance and Control, Continual Improvement, Project Quality, and Regulatory Management;

- Analyze, identify, and implement enhancements in manufacturing and business processes to boost capability and performance;

- Lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) initiatives, including Trend Analysis and DMAIC methodologies;

- Monitor the cost of quality and implement strategies to minimize failure and subsequent assessment costs;

- Plan quality for products and projects utilizing quality control plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and work orders/travelers;

- Integrate Quality Assurance throughout all phases of Project Realization, from proposal to closure;

- Collaborate with the Procurement department to enhance Supply Chain efficiency;

- Acquire and maintain product line certifications, particularly from Maritime Class Societies;

- Design and implement various First Party Audit programs, conduct supplier audits in coordination with Procurement, and represent the company during assessments;

- Continuously evaluate and enhance methods for tracking customer satisfaction and initiate improvement actions as necessary;

- Coordinate with Marketing/Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Production, and Project Management to mitigate risks related to Regulatory Compliance, Project Schedule, Scope, Quality, and Cost;

- Advocate for a Risk and Process-Based approach across the organization, deploying SIPOC models and PDCA methodologies;

- Promote and facilitate the implementation of Kaizen Events, 5S, Kanban, Lean Manufacturing, and Lean Supply Chain practices;

- Troubleshoot quality-related issues concerning products or processes;

- Collaborate with production team members to provide recommendations and share results;

- Maintain and control calibration records for testing and inspection equipment;

- Ensure adherence to good manufacturing practices;

- Conduct tests and measurements using existing measurement equipment;

- Verify compliance of parts and products with specifications;

- Define quality procedures in conjunction with operational staff;

- Work with management to develop new product requirements and manufacturing methods;

- Develop and implement a Training Program for the Quality Department, ensuring other departments also deploy relevant training programs.

Supervisory Responsibilities:


Manage and develop a team of quality assurance professionals, providing coaching and mentoring to help them achieve their full potential.


Qualifications:
Education and Experience

- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Material, Electromechanical);

- ASQ certification (e.g., CMQ/OE) is preferred;

- Over 5 years of experience in a Quality leadership or management role within a manufacturing context.

Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of ASME section VIII, ASME Section IX, PED, and ASTM regulations;

- Strong mathematical and technical skills;

- Excellent investigative and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail;

- Logical and methodical thinking skills;

- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills;

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;

- Negotiation, supervisory, and leadership skills with the ability to delegate effectively;

- Decision-making capabilities combined with the ability to work independently and proactively;

- Familiarity with statistical packages and Microsoft Office applications;

- Experience in dimensional inspection of machined components;

- Previous exposure to machine shops, foundries, or sheet metal shops;

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;

- Experience in quality system auditing and reporting;

- Comprehensive understanding of the ISO 9001 standard;

- Knowledge of standard manufacturing and safety compliance processes.
