Inpatient Coding Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Inpatient Coder Lead to join our team at TEKsystems. As a key member of our coding team, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring our coding staff to ensure accurate and efficient coding practices.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and mentor a team of coders to achieve high-quality coding results
- Develop and implement coding policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and efficient coding practices
- Stay up-to-date with the latest coding guidelines and regulations
- Provide training and support to coding staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively
- Four years or more of progressive on-the-job experience in an acute care hospital setting as an Inpatient coder
- Level 1 Trauma Hospital Coding experience
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required and maintained thereafter
- Extensive knowledge of ICD 10-CM diagnostic and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes, UHDDS, and various DRG methodologies
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
