About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Inpatient Coder Lead to join our team at TEKsystems. As a key member of our coding team, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring our coding staff to ensure accurate and efficient coding practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of coders to achieve high-quality coding results
  • Develop and implement coding policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of coding services
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest coding guidelines and regulations, including ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS
  • Provide training and support to coding staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively
Requirements
  • Four years or more of progressive on-the-job experience in an acute care hospital setting as an Inpatient coder
  • Level 1 Trauma Hospital Coding experience
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required and maintained thereafter
  • Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM diagnostic and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes, UHDDS, and various DRG methodologies
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a team
