Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager

Saputo, a leading global dairy processor, is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Manager to join our team in Franklin, WI. As a key stakeholder for our new 340,000 square foot conversion facility, you will play a critical role in optimizing our cheese network in North America.

About the Role:

The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for safeguarding product safety and quality while meeting company and regulatory standards. You will oversee a continuous quality improvement program, ensuring that production and distribution meet or exceed all quality standards. Your expertise will be essential in communicating quality results and transferring quality and QA knowledge to the workforce.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the operation of the plant laboratory, ensuring supplies and equipment are available.
  • Ensure product safety, regulatory compliance, and adherence to company standards.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement efforts in product quality/performance and process optimization.
  • Provide leadership in coaching, education, and training of management staff and plant employees for Quality Assurance.
  • Oversee quality control systems, including hold programs and traceability exercises.
  • Review and maintain all quality control test results.
  • Ensure adherence to appropriate regulations and company standards for raw milk quality.
  • Communicate quality metric and inspection results to appropriate managers and others in leadership positions.
  • Ensure proper sanitation procedures are utilized and adequate sanitation tests are performed.
  • Act as the liaison for local, state, customer/third-party, and federal audits and inspections.
  • Manage expense control, including labor and 'Cost of Quality' utilizing Continuous Improvement techniques.
  • Ensure adherence to all contract packaging quality requirements.
  • Cooperate in a cross-functional manner as a change agent with all departments within the company.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years hands-on manufacturing experience in the dairy or food industry operations, with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a science-based area of study and a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, including a working knowledge of sanitation systems, techniques, and procedures.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including team development and coaching.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Understanding of cost containment and budgetary principles.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, in support of plant operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
