As a vital member of the NPI Process Engineering team, you will contribute significantly to advancing the medical technology sector by enhancing patient care and achieving superior patient outcomes.

Role Summary:

Under general supervision, you will assist in the development and enhancement of new manufacturing methodologies for Orthopedic implants and instruments. As part of the Manufacturing Engineering team, your role will involve supporting daily operations related to products, processes, materials, and equipment to meet NPI and production objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all safety and quality standards set by DJO Global.
  • Engage in both supervised and independent tasks related to project development.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives within your designated area.
  • Plan, execute, and manage activities associated with your projects.
  • Assist the team in identifying opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Provide technical assistance related to your assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to identify, define, and resolve technical challenges.
  • Document processes and findings as necessary.
  • Coordinate with various organizational levels and departments to gather essential information for departmental improvement projects.
  • Support the department with a variety of daily tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of at least 50% of studies towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, with a focus on Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, and a minimum GPA requirement.

Travel Requirements:

  • Less than 5%

Desired Skills:

Knowledge in Manufacturing, Process Development/Validations, and Tools such as Statistics, Technical Manuals, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and Design of Experiments (DoE) is essential. Experience in Medical Device product development or manufacturing is advantageous.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary. The ability to follow instructions and operate standard office equipment is expected.

Relevant coursework may include Processing of Materials, Materials Processing, Machine Tool Operations for Engineers, Robot Mechanism Design, Materials Selection, Metallurgy of Engineering Alloys, Industrial Design for Production, Robotics and Automation, and Statistical Methods for Process Control & Manufacturing.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds. Capability to sit or stand for extended periods.
