JOB TITLE: Junior Architect

JOB SUMMARY: The Junior Architect plays a crucial role in supporting the technical design elements of assigned projects. This position involves the assessment, analysis, and proposal of design alternatives. Under the guidance of the Project Architect or Project Manager, the Junior Architect is proficient in all standard facets of architecture and is dedicated to delivering high-quality project designs and documentation within established timelines and budgets. This role requires the ability to work autonomously on various components of architectural design.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Adhere to Cooper Carry and client standards while meeting project deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Maintain familiarity with ongoing Cooper Carry projects and available resources.
  • Exhibit architectural capabilities including drafting, rendering, and presentation skills using internal tools.
  • Conduct design analyses, planning assessments, and limited layout designs.
  • Effectively communicate with team members, clients, and consultant/contractor representatives.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with necessary software to create comprehensive, high-quality drawings.
  • Assist the Project Architect in coordinating essential tasks across various projects.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completion of all project-related assignments.
  • Prepare and produce design and construction documentation.
  • Possess a solid understanding of building systems, codes, and construction practices.
  • Foster a collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Conduct research as required.
  • Participate in contract administration as appropriate.
  • Mentor less experienced designers.
  • Travel to project sites or design offices as needed to support design and construction efforts under the direction of the Project Architect.
  • Contribute to the overall quality and success of the project, studio, and firm.
  • Review and assist with reports and specifications.
  • Evaluate completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Registered Architect.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Graduate of an accredited architectural program with a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • Strong understanding of building systems and documentation.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

  • Majority of time is spent in a seated position.
