Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Central Supply Clerk to join our team at the Montowese Center for Health & Rehabilitation. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and organized medical records for our residents.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain adequate amounts, records, and organization of facility stock necessary for patient care.
  • Order supplies and compile purchase orders.
  • Receive supplies and stock Central Supply storage.
  • Check invoices, shipments, unpacking, etc.
  • Distribute, collect, and fill floor supply lists. Check, remove expired supplies as noted.
  • Obtain supplies for floors on other than usual day when needed.
  • Maintain records of chargeable items for billing purposes.
  • Maintain inventory. Remove and dispose of any expired items in inventory.
  • Function as a liaison between the Nursing Department and vendor when necessary.
  • Order and distribute office supplies.
  • Maintain a log of the serial number, warranty, and date of purchase of durable medical equipment.
  • Collect unused equipment from units, i.e., IV Pools, bedside commode, suction machine.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in health information management or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience working in medical records management, preferably within a long-term care facility or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10, CPT), and healthcare documentation standards.
  • Previous experience in ordering supplies and compiling purchase orders.
