We are seeking a highly skilled Endoscopy Technician to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As an Endoscopy Technician, you will play a critical role in assisting endoscopists and the endoscopy team in providing high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with endoscopic procedures, handling instruments and anticipating the needs of endoscopists.
- Clean and disinfect equipment according to hospital policies and procedures.
- Re-supply procedure rooms with standard supplies and maintain endoscopy instruments and specialty equipment.
- Prepare for scheduled endoscopic procedures, ensuring necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Transport patients within the department and hospital as needed, verifying patient identity and assisting with lifting and positioning.
- Observe patient condition during procedures and report any changes to RN, anesthesia personnel, or physician.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to aseptic technique and universal precautions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 6-12 months of related work experience in a hospital or patient care setting.
- Completion of Anatomy and Physiology preferred.
