Endoscopy Technician Job Description

Detroit Medical Center is seeking a skilled Endoscopy Technician to join our team in Detroit, Michigan.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist endoscopists with endoscopy procedures, ensuring the necessary equipment and supplies are available and ready for use.
  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments after use, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Prepare for scheduled endoscopic procedures, ensuring the necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and ready for use.
  • Transport patients, via wheelchair or stretcher, within the department and hospital when necessary, verifying patient identity and assisting with lifting and positioning for endoscopy procedures.
  • Observe patient condition while in the procedure room and report any changes to the RN, anesthesia personnel, or physician.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment, ensuring equipment and supplies are stored securely.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six to twelve months of related work experience in a hospital or patient care setting.
  • Completion of Anatomy and Physiology preferred.
