Job Title: Endoscopy Technician

The Detroit Medical Center is seeking a skilled Endoscopy Technician to join our team at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.

Job Summary:

As an Endoscopy Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting endoscopists and the endoscopy team in performing various endoscopic procedures. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring that necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and ready for use, assisting the endoscopist with endoscopy procedures, and cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing instruments after use.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with multiple types of endoscopic procedures, handling instruments and anticipating the needs of the endoscopists.
  • Clean and disinfect all equipment according to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Re-supply procedure rooms with standard supplies and maintain endoscopy instruments and specialty equipment.
  • Prepare for scheduled endoscopic procedures, ensuring the necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and ready for use.
  • Assist in transportation of patients, verifying patient identity and assisting with lifting and positioning of patients for endoscopy procedures.
  • Observe patient condition while in the procedure room and report any changes to the RN, anesthesia personnel, or physician.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment and ensure equipment and supplies are stored securely.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six to twelve months of related work experience in a hospital or patient care setting.
  • Completion of Anatomy and Physiology preferred.
