Endoscopy Technician

The Detroit Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Endoscopy Technician to join our team in Detroit, Michigan. As a key member of our Endoscopy Department, you will play a vital role in assisting endoscopists and endoscopy teams with various procedures, ensuring the necessary equipment and supplies are available and ready for use.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with multiple types of endoscopic procedures, handling instruments and anticipating the needs of endoscopists.
- Clean and disinfect all equipment according to hospital policies and procedures, testing disinfectant solutions for effectiveness daily and recording results.
- Re-supply procedure rooms with standard supplies, maintaining endoscopy instruments and specialty equipment, and ensuring endoscopes and related equipment are in good working condition.
- Prepare for scheduled endoscopic procedures, ensuring the necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and ready for use.
- Assist in transportation of patients, verifying patient identity and assisting with lifting and positioning of patients for endoscopy procedures.
- Observe patient condition while in the procedure room and report any changes to the RN, anesthesia personnel, or physician.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment, ensuring equipment and supplies are stored securely.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six to twelve months of related work experience in a hospital or patient care setting.
- Completion of Anatomy and Physiology preferred.
