Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Engineering Project Manager who possesses a strong business development mindset to join our dynamic team. This position is primarily responsible for overseeing and directing engineering development projects from inception to completion. Additionally, the successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting our business development initiatives. The ideal applicant will hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in project management within engineering development settings. A project management certification is highly desirable. Proficiency in Agile methodologies, exceptional communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple projects effectively in resource-limited environments are essential. Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management:
  • Oversee and direct engineering development projects, establishing scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate closely with the team to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Create and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Conduct work breakdown with engineers, backlog grooming, sprint planning, retrospectives, and project documentation.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks to guarantee timely and successful outcomes.
  • Coordinate tasks among various engineers and stakeholders, including subcontractors.
  • Facilitate meetings with project owners, product owners, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure multiple projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Ensure adherence to documentation and quality standard operating procedures (SOPs), acting as Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Facilitate communication to align project goals with organizational objectives.
  • Organize and lead sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Effectively allocate resources to meet project demands.
  • Enhance workflow and productivity in collaboration with team members.
  • Monitor and report on project progress to ensure alignment with goals and timelines.
  • Business Development Support:
  • Assist in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and partners.
  • Participate in business meetings and presentations to promote company products/services.
  • Provide support in business operations and administration as required to assist management and the CEO.
  • Engage in grant writing and other fundraising activities as necessary.
  • Participate in FDA-related activities and adhere to quality protocols.
  • Encourage collaboration between engineering teams, researchers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Manage federally sponsored grants, including proposal writing and compliance assurance.
  • Support additional grant writing efforts to secure funding for R&D initiatives.
  • Handle ad-hoc tasks relevant to startup operations and requirements.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and assist in fulfilling organizational needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience as a Project Manager in engineering development environments.
  • Project management certification is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and project management software such as Jira and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
