Student Support Services Director

Duke University seeks a highly skilled and experienced leader to serve as the Senior Associate Dean of Students, Student Support Services. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the well-being and success of Duke students by overseeing the development and implementation of policies and programs related to student conduct, case management, and support services.
Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Planning and Policy Development
- Contribute to the development of strategic plans and policies that promote student engagement, well-being, and academic success
- Collaborate with the Dean of Students leadership team to advance the mission and goals of the university
- Team Leadership and Supervision
- Supervise team leads in various areas, including university behavioral conduct, non-clinical case management, discrimination and harassment, gender violence education and outreach, and crisis response and risk management
- Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations for team members
- Student Support Service Areas Leadership
- Develop and implement policies related to student behavior and discipline, aligning with university values
- Collaborate with academic and other university support services to facilitate student success
- Emergency Preparedness and Response
- Lead the crisis response team and develop strategies for managing and mitigating high-risk situations
- Assess potential risks to the campus community and implement preventive measures and advise senior leaders on the same
This position requires a minimum of two years of experience supervising full-time employees, as well as experience working with diverse populations and a commitment to equity and inclusion. A master's degree in education or a related field is preferred, along with at least six years of experience as an administrator with responsibility for a wide range of process, project, policy, budgetary, and supervisory responsibilities within an organization. The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
