Director of PhD Student Development

We are seeking a skilled Program Director to lead the Duke BioCoRE program, which focuses on creating a diverse and inclusive community of PhD students. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of program administration and be able to develop and implement effective strategies to support student success.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement pathway programs and recruitment initiatives to increase diversity among trainees and faculty members.
- Create lectures and training materials to enhance cultural competency within the School of Medicine.
- Provide strategic support and accountability metrics to department chairs to promote inclusion in the research environment.
- Mentor and oversee approximately 100 graduate scholars, providing individualized support and guidance.
- Foster cross-institutional interactions between relevant offices from the School of Medicine, the Graduate School, the Pratt School of Engineering, and Trinity College.
- Bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience in program administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Candidates with a background in a STEM discipline and PhD-level training are preferred.
The estimated salary range for this position is $85,000 - $125,000 per year, depending on experience.
