Role Overview
As a vital member of the Software Engineering team within NIBR's robust Informatics organization, you will be tasked with creating next-generation software tools that enhance the acquisition, storage, integration, analysis, visualization, and interpretation of chemical, biological, clinical, and operational data.
Key Responsibilities
As part of your role, you will:
- Design and develop cutting-edge software tools and methodologies to facilitate the discovery process throughout the design-make-test-analyze cycle.
- Contribute significantly to the creation of tools and technologies for data integration, processing, analysis, and visualization at scale.
- Collaborate within a cross-functional product team to convert business requirements into powerful, functional, and aesthetically pleasing products.
- Engage in the complete development cycle from product conception, research, and prototyping to production release.
- Adopt an action-oriented mindset, agile development principles, and industry-standard software development best practices.
- Balance strong technical leadership with a mindset focused on learning and collaboration.
- Incorporate software development best practices into daily work and inspire others within the engineering community to adopt these practices.
- Ensure compliance with Novartis global Information Security and Quality standards for all products and services.
- Where applicable, ensure adherence to Regulatory Compliance standards for GxP products and services.
Location and Compensation
This position is based at the Novartis Cambridge site, with relocation assistance potentially available. The expected salary range for this role is between $124,000 and $186,000 per year, with final compensation determined by various factors including geographical location, experience, and skills.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in developing commercial-quality cloud-based solutions at scale, utilizing various SDLC and product-led approaches.
- Proven ability to lead technical aspects of complex products that integrate with other systems.
- Experience in enhancing processes and methodologies across products.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to influence in a matrix environment.
- Extensive knowledge of modern programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.) and software development environments.
- Experience with both relational and non-relational databases.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies and container technologies.
- Experience in web service development and software development code management tools.
- A well-structured working style with clear communication skills to facilitate collaboration across teams.
- A keen attention to detail and a passion for user experience.
- A degree in computer science, information systems, life sciences, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
