Job Summary

Auto-Owners Insurance is seeking a skilled Catastrophe Claims Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in claims handling and experience in field claims, particularly property and casualty claims.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and analyze claims to determine coverage and liability.
  • Make decisions on claims and work towards resolutions, including participating in legal proceedings.
  • Ensure accurate and timely claims payments.
  • Travel frequently to locations of catastrophes, often on short notice.
  • Physical ability to carry out tasks such as climbing ladders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in claims handling or similar field.
  • Proficiency in Xactimate software.
  • Above-average communication skills.
  • Ability to resolve complex issues and handle multiple tasks.
  • Organizational and data interpretation skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.
