The Claims Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing a dedicated team, ensuring that all quality, efficiency, and customer service standards are upheld while complying with company regulations and procedures. This position is vital for the success of CorVel Corporation and necessitates regular attendance to support the objectives of the claims department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages the daily activities of claims personnel Assists the Claims Manager in recruiting, interviewing, and training new employees on protocols and job functions Guarantees adherence to Workers' Compensation laws and required regulatory reporting Promotes optimal team performance through ongoing training, coaching, and regular performance assessments, recommending merit increases with managerial approval Provides expert guidance to claims staff on complex issues related to compensability, investigations, litigation, and service account directives Acts as a liaison, proposing and executing resolutions for clients and employees concerning claim-specific, procedural, or special requests Complies with HIPAA regulations, policies, and procedures Maintains consistent attendance Follows all safety protocols during work hours in alignment with the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) Upholds all company policies, best practices, and procedures Undertakes additional projects and responsibilities as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities Capability to assist team members in enhancing their understanding of claims processes Engages in Customer Claim Reviews and Presentations Strong analytical, quantitative, and interpretive skills Proven leadership, management, and motivational capabilities Demonstrated excellence in Customer Service Willingness to travel overnight and attend meetings as necessary Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations and communicate effectively through various channels Proficient in computer applications, particularly MS Office including Excel Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team Comprehensive knowledge of claims administration, case management, and cost containment relevant to Workers' Compensation

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Proven public speaking abilities At least 5 years of experience in claims handling Familiarity with Workers' Compensation is essential Current certification or license in Workers' Compensation must be maintained throughout employment Self-Insured Certificate is preferred State Certification as an experienced Examiner is advantageous

COMPENSATION:

CorVel employs a market-based approach to compensation, and salary ranges may differ based on location. Pay rates are determined by factors such as federal, state, and local minimum wage laws, geographic location, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and market conditions. Salary ranges are subject to change.

For roles with levels (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.), new hires may be placed at a different level based on an assessment during the interview process, considering experience, qualifications, and overall suitability for the position. The level may influence the salary range, and these adjustments will be clarified during the offer process.

Salary Range: $67,086 – $111,634
