OBJECTIVE:
The Floral Manager is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service across all aspects of the role. The primary goal is to provide high-quality floral products that surpass customer expectations.

This position requires a solid understanding of department operations, including the design and preparation of floral arrangements and maintaining a sufficient inventory of fresh products.

The Floral Manager is accountable for ensuring a fresh inventory, completing necessary administrative tasks, and keeping precise departmental records.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Foster a welcoming atmosphere focused on prompt and friendly customer service.
  • Assist customers with product recommendations.
  • Utilize suggestive selling techniques through various communication channels.
  • Handle incoming calls effectively, addressing customer inquiries and complaints as needed.
  • Process special orders from customers, both over the phone and in person.
  • Manage inventory orders for balloons, plants, flowers, and related supplies, ensuring product freshness and variety.
  • Oversee daily operations, monitoring production processes to align with company standards and profitability goals.
  • Enhance floral displays, create bows, inflate balloons, and prepare bouquets.
  • Produce floral designs that meet company standards.
  • Maintain departmental standards for floral and balloon arrangements.
  • Support team members in their tasks and responsibilities.
  • Evaluate employee performance and productivity.
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of all department staff.
  • Comprehend opening and closing procedures for the department.
  • Schedule, supervise, and train department personnel.
  • Educate employees on store policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with company policies as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Ensure compliance with product dating and quality standards.
  • Participate in personnel actions, including interviews and promotions.
  • Prepare sales and inventory reports, conducting physical inventory checks regularly.
  • Implement proper product preparation techniques and operate necessary equipment.
  • Conduct receiving duties, ensuring product quality and adherence to storage guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate administrative records for the department.
  • Control shrinkage and manage costs effectively.
  • Adhere to workplace safety regulations and ensure proper pricing and signage.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area, including compliance with code dates.
  • Execute emergency procedures as required.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, maintaining professionalism with customers and colleagues.
  • Basic knowledge of product perishability and safety procedures.
  • Understanding of company practices and floral department policies.
  • Physical ability to lift and maneuver objects weighing up to 40 lbs and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Manual dexterity and good coordination are essential.
  • Mental alertness is crucial for accurate task completion.
  • Proficient in operating various tools and equipment related to the floral department.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Awareness of potential hazards associated with equipment used in the role.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Primarily operates in a temperature-controlled environment with exposure to refrigerated areas.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
