Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current, valid RN licensure; Compact license preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal regulations and standards of care.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in long-term care, ideally in roles such as Director of Nursing, Nurse Consultant, or Administrator.
  • Proficient in preparing written materials for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to effectively introduce concepts and provide training that is credible and accepted.
  • Capacity to learn new clinical software applications for training purposes.
  • Management or supervisory experience is essential.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to various client sites, including overnight stays.

Essential Duties:

  • Coordinate and monitor training programs across facilities.
  • Develop standard training outlines, documentation, and materials.
  • Train Staff Development Coordinators or designated personnel in training responsibilities.
  • Audit training content for compliance at the facility level.
  • Assist facilities in achieving and maintaining high-quality clinical education and training.
  • Ensure programs include competencies and return demonstrations as necessary.
  • Support annual competency skills fairs.
  • Review survey outcomes and provide targeted training for improvement.
  • Plan and oversee required in-service programs.
  • Maintain programs in accordance with best practice standards.
  • Collaborate with Learning Management Systems for online training expansion.
  • Develop approved programs for licensure contact hours.
  • Analyze state survey and quality assurance results to inform training needs and action plans.
  • Facilitate training and orientation for nursing positions.
  • Assist in coordinating C.N.A. training programs.
