About the Role

Amergis is seeking a skilled School Social Worker to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide critical support to students in need of social work intervention and help develop individualized service plans that align with the IEP.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a therapeutic setting, adhering to the full instructional program
  • Design and develop individualized service plans based on diagnostic information and IEP requirements
  • Effectively transition students between therapy and classroom settings
  • Collaborate with the educational team to prevent and intervene in inappropriate behaviors
  • Engage students in positive feedback and reinforcement techniques
  • Interact effectively with students, family members, educational team members, and professionals outside the organization
  • Utilize community, state, and national resources to promote student safety and welfare
Requirements
  • Hold a Professional Educator License with School Social Worker (SSW) endorsement
  • May require MSW or LCSW per state, contract, or facility
  • Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Participate in Amergis' Competency program when applicable
  • Meet all federal, state, and local requirements
