Counselor/Social Worker Position at Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School

We are seeking a qualified Counselor/Social Worker to join our team at Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School. As a Counselor/Social Worker, you will provide direct and indirect clinical services to our adult students, including individual and group counseling, workshops, and case management.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual and group short-term mental health counseling
  • Make referrals to appropriate social agencies and services
  • Coordinate and facilitate workshops with teachers
  • Organize and conduct individual and group career counseling services
  • Assist students with college or vocational program applications
  • Collect and synthesize individual student data
  • Maintain student files and reports
  • Create and conduct workshops on various topics
  • Assist in organizing special events and student government activities
  • Perform other duties as requested

Qualifications:

  • A Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling
  • License in the District of Columbia or working towards a license
  • Minimum of two years experience in mental health counseling or school social work
  • Experience working with linguistically and culturally diverse adult students
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to interact with diverse populations
  • Fluency in a foreign language (Spanish or Amharic preferred)
  • Ability to work some weekends and evenings
  • Proof of completed Covid-19 vaccination
