Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner, following Nick the Greek's hospitality procedures.
  • Order Taking and Upselling: Take orders and suggest menu items to build sales and enhance the customer experience.
  • Transaction Processing: Process cash, charge, and check transactions accurately and efficiently, following restaurant procedures.
  • Guest Assistance: Provide assistance to guests as needed, including answering questions and resolving issues.
  • Communication: Respond to incoming telephone calls, take accurate messages, and direct calls to the appropriate person.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain adequate stock of paper forms for the cash register area and notify the restaurant manager when additional supplies are needed.
  • Training and Development: Train new cashiers on approved company procedures and attend restaurant meetings and training sessions as requested.
  • Cash Handling: Balance the cash drawer and total currency sales each day, and place cash and transaction records in the safe according to restaurant procedures.
  • Problem Resolution: Report any problems or discrepancies to the assistant manager or restaurant manager.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain the front of house according to company cleanliness policy.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Prior cashier experience is helpful.
  • Skills: Ability to stand for long periods, oral and written communication skills, guest service and relations, currency aptitude, organizational skills, diplomacy, math aptitude, and reading skills.
