General Dynamics provides comprehensive IT services in support of mission-critical operations throughout various regions. This role is integral to the delivery and operationalization of information technology (IT) services for all combatant command constructed networks.

We are seeking a Cyber Operations Watch Supervisor to support the Cyber Information Technology Enterprise Services (SCITES).

This position is pivotal in SOUTHCOM's strategic transition to a Zero Trust Architecture, aligning with the Department of Defense's Zero Trust Strategy.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Oversee enterprise networks, systems, and services, reporting any unusual activity that may indicate outages or risks.
  • Coordinate and guide teams using established protocols in response to operational events.
  • Ensure comprehensive communication of operational risks to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Process and report Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI) for local and published ASIs.
  • Maintain situational awareness during ASIs impacting IT operations.
  • Track activities to support information dissemination and decision-making.
  • Provide continuous situational awareness and publish necessary documentation and reports.
  • Support daily briefings with technical and information collection assistance.
  • Act as a liaison for service desk incidents outside of regular hours.
  • Initiate prioritized break-fix actions as directed.
  • Document non-priority requests for management review.
  • Collaborate with the Problem Manager for effective root-cause analysis and improvement recommendations.
  • Work with the Change Manager to assess risks and coordinate Change Requests.
  • Assist in refining documented processes related to operational duties.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of circuits and links within the operations center.
  • Understand the mission impact of enterprise networks to inform incident responses.
  • Provide reports on activities and future plans to the Watch Officer Lead.
  • Perform complex administrative and analytical tasks in support of operations.
  • Engage with customers to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Facilitate resolution of operational issues.
  • Lead and mentor the Watch Officer team, ensuring optimal service delivery.
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping and maintain team schedules.
  • Set performance goals and assist in team members' career development.
  • Identify performance issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners for staffing needs.
  • Manage task assignments and completion for the Systems Administration team.
Desired Experience/Training:
  • 8+ years in operations, systems, or technical control roles with experience in network monitoring tools.
  • Experience in the DoD or Federal environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn various business applications.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex topics clearly.
  • Highly organized with the ability to maintain efficiency in dynamic environments.
  • Proficient problem-solver capable of independent issue resolution.
  • Flexible and adept at multitasking to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in customer support for diverse clients.
  • Knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure support.
Education Requirements:
  • BA/BS (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of relevant experience.
Certifications:
  • None required.
Desired Certifications:
  • ITIL v4 Foundation.
Clearance Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a fully adjudicated Top Secret SCI clearance.
  • Must have interim security clearance and required certifications prior to starting the role.
