General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) provides comprehensive IT services in support of critical operations across various regions. The Cyber Information Technology Enterprise Services (SCITES) division is focused on delivering and operationalizing IT services for all constructed networks within the command's area of responsibility.

We are seeking a Watch Officer Team Lead to support the Cyber Information Technology Enterprise Services (SCITES) initiative.

This role is pivotal in advancing the organization's transition to a Zero Trust Architecture, aligning with the Department of Defense's strategic directives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee enterprise networks, systems, and services, reporting any irregularities that may indicate outages or hazardous conditions.
  • Coordinate and guide teams using established protocols in response to operational events.
  • Communicate operational risks effectively to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Process and report Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI) as necessary.
  • Maintain situational awareness during ASIs affecting IT operations.
  • Document activities to support information dissemination and decision-making.
  • Provide 24/7 situational awareness and generate necessary reports.
  • Support daily briefings with technical and information collection assistance.
  • Act as a liaison for service desk incidents outside of regular hours.
  • Initiate corrective actions as prioritized by leadership.
  • Document non-priority requests for future reference.
  • Collaborate with the Problem Manager for root-cause analysis and improvement recommendations.
  • Work with the Change Manager to assess risks and coordinate change requests.
  • Enhance documented processes for operational duties, ensuring compliance with approved procedures.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network circuits.
  • Understand the operational significance of enterprise systems to inform incident responses.
  • Provide reports on team activities and future plans.
  • Perform administrative and analytical tasks to support enterprise operations.
  • Engage with customers to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Resolve operational issues collaboratively.
  • Lead and mentor the Watch Officer team, ensuring adequate training and performance alignment.
Desired Experience/Training:
  • 8+ years in operations or technical control roles, with experience in network monitoring tools.
  • Experience in the Department of Defense or federal environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn various business applications.
  • Strong communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Highly organized and efficient in dynamic environments.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in customer support for IT infrastructure.
Education Required:
  • BA/BS (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of relevant experience.
Clearance Required:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a fully adjudicated Top Secret SCI clearance.
